Had a nice break from school life yesterday. Went to Malaysia with my parents and sister. We were supposed to meet my cousin and her husband at City Square (memories of OLCs & OT) but they could not make it because her seminar ended late =( Ate at Kenny Rogers. The same place we ate during OLC ‘09! The food there is cheap!! RM111 for the four of us. That translates to less than $50 chinkchink $$.
It was relatively more fun shopping in Malaysia with my parents than in Singapore. Because my mum is more willing to part with her Ringgits than with her Dollars, provided it is cheaper there than here. Didn’t really buy much stuff because they don’t sell the things that I want. My sis bought many clothes though. Come to think of it, the only stuff she bought were clothes o.o I bought Vitamin C capsules and COD LIVER OIL OH MY GOSH from the Pharmacy because they are cheaper in Malaysia.
I had a traumatic childhood experience with cod liver oil. You know, those HUGE STINKY GEL CAPSULES? Yeah, when I was in primary school, my mum used to make every one of us eat a 2 capsules each morning. And because I was still young, I didn’t dare to swallow such a big capsule so my mum had to squeeze the gel out into my mouth and I had to swallow the smelly thing. The thing is that, it doesn’t stink so much if you swallow it in the capsule form. But because I squeezed the gel out, it stank like shit. So it was quite a surprise that I willingly bought a bottle of fish liver oil for myself WOW. Let’s see how my breakfasts are going to be like from tomorrow onwards. Hmm.
Oh plus, I bought myself a bottle of Vitamin C capsules. Actually I took the chewable/suck-able ones but the pharmacist told me that the chewable tablets are for kids -.- And recommended me the capsules. Why Vitamin C? I don’t really know why. HAHA. Just that I don’t want to fall sick and miss out on lessons and stuff. It’s supposed to boost your immunity, right? Correct me if I’m wrong haha.
And my mum bought some homeopathy tablets for me and my brother. I used to eat it when I was young too. But these tablets are the chewable kind =) So yay, no swallowing! FYI I don’t drink carbonated drinks. And it was because of these tablets that I stopped drinking it in Primary 2 because you’re not supposed to drink gassy drinks or any caffeine drinks like coffee and tea a few hours before and after eating the tablets. But because you must eat it 3 times a day, that effectively keeps you away from gassy drinks and coffee for the whole day. So up till now, even after I stopped eating the tablets in Secondary 4, I still don’t quite like gassy drinks and wouldn’t drink it if given a choice.
Oh and I bought this really cute (but pink) T-shirt. It had a print of a pinata hung from a tree. And a speech bubble from the pinata that says “Hit me baby one more time”. HAHA. Thought it was quite funny so I bought it. HAHAHAHAHA. After seeing the shirt, the song got stuck in my head and I kept singing it lol.
Oh damn funny, before going home, my mum stopped by this bakery/pastry to buy some food home for the hungry guys in my house. She ended up buying..EIGHT donuts, SIX eggtarts, SIX peach-custard bread thing, SIX cheese twist, SIX weird-bread-cake-thing-which-I-don’t-know-its-name and SIX slices of cheesecake. OH MY GOSH WHAT THE. Might as well buy the whole shop! HAHA, the people at the counter were laughing at her haha. It was quite a funny sight. Why six? Because there’s six people in my family. But why eight donuts? Because my dad does not eat glazed donut so my bought bought 2 extra plain sugar donuts for him. HAHA SO MUCH FOOD!!
Then she stopped by this shop that sells Malay kuih and bought FOUR HUGE TUBS OF KUIH BAULU :O One for my maternal grandmother, one for my paternal grandmother and two for our family. My gosh. Hehe I bought a bottle of pineapple tart =)
Okay, it seemed like a food trip for me actually. Actually had fun HAHA.
I’m hooked onto this book “Into The Wild” which my sis borrowed from the library. Have been reading it since I got home last night and this morning. Shall hurry finish it and get down to do some school work. Maybe I can go get new specs if there’s time!!
“Journey’s Song”
On winter streets, you stand out like a flame
Cut from your home with faraway name
Walking like someone asleep.
Here on my street you pass with guarded eyes –
How can I learn the story that lies deep in the song of your life?
Songs of right and wrong, songs of weak and strong.
Raise your voice and sing me your journey´s song.
Far from its home, your language has no friend –
Sit by my side and we will pretend
No one is deaf to your song.
Songs of endless roads, songs of tiring loads.
Raise your voice and sing me your journey´s song.
